Beanbag Love

I read. I write. I talk about reading and writing. That is when I'm not driving kids somewhere or teaching them. Married, educated, domesticated. I really enjoy the friends I've met through a variety of different message boards and venues regarding reading and authors. I try to take a positive view when I write reviews but sometimes I can't. Those times are few and far between, but they do exist. I'm mostly an old softy, though. I think so anyway.

Cover Me (Elite Force: That Others May Live) - Catherine Mann This is the first book I've read by this author and, to be honest, I'm not sure how it ended up on my Kindle. Another impulse buy? However it got there, I'm glad it did. This was a solid 4.5 for me with good characters and chemistry, an interesting location, and suspenseful, exciting moments.

This is the first book in the "Elite Ops" series about Air Force pararescuers. The setting of this book is Alaska, but the next one will be set somewhere else. This story concerns Wade Rocha and Sunny Foster. She's part of an off-the-grid community in the Aleutian Islands in Alaska and he's been sent to rescue her. Only she doesn't need rescuing since she knows the terrain like the back of her hand being a wilderness and survival guide herself. However, the going is treacherous and they save each other a couple of times on the way to falling in love.

Wade's team will be future heroes and they're introduced nicely. Not too much, never taking over the story from the leads, but intriguing all the same.

Since I didn't remember purchasing the book and I was unfamiliar with the author, I looked her up and found that she has quite a back list. Lucky me! And even luckier me, she's not agency priced. That's a sure way to make Beanbag happy. :D
