This was a very short story that takes place during and just after Jack and Keely's wedding. When I saw there was going to be a short for J & K, I was thrilled because their book left some unanswered questions. Some of those answers were revealed in conversation in this book, but I think it might have played out as a pretty good novella (working out his moving his business or not moving it, where they would live, etc).
But this was just a quickie and all it served to do was showcase everything I don't like about Keely. The end of All Jacked Up was fine, but I felt she could have admitted to being a bit at fault. I mean, she did blab at least one thing she was expressly asked not to mention and probably did hurt someone because of it. In this one she blows her top and acts like a spoiled princess and the outcome is that she was right and he was wrong ... he's got a lot to learn. Huh? Sorry, if I'd been her conscience I'd have smacked her for being so bitchy.
So, that's why I only give it two stars. It was rather pointless, didn't add anything to the series and concluded with Keely again being considered above reproach for her own stupid temperament.
Don't get me wrong, there's a lot I like about Keely and I liked AJU a lot. There's just that little glitch where she comes away without a scratch when she's got at least a little bit of remorse coming to her.
Still, it's a freebie and, if you can't stand another day without a McKay, I'd say, go for it, but don't expect much.
