Beanbag Love

I read. I write. I talk about reading and writing. That is when I'm not driving kids somewhere or teaching them. Married, educated, domesticated. I really enjoy the friends I've met through a variety of different message boards and venues regarding reading and authors. I try to take a positive view when I write reviews but sometimes I can't. Those times are few and far between, but they do exist. I'm mostly an old softy, though. I think so anyway.

Secrets (PsyCop, #4) - Jordan Castillo Price This is a great series. I thought this particular installment was very well rounded. Had a great arc, some surprises, suspense and some steamy love scenes. Romance and friendship and confusing feelings. Best ingredients in the world.

Vic has a few days off while he moves into his new place with Jacob. Being Vic, he's completely flipping out over the change in his life and the confirmation of the most successful relationship he's had in a long time. At the beginning of the book I was tempted to smack him. By the end I wanted to hug him... but he probably wouldn't let me.

What's so addicting about all this is that it's like going through a good friend's crack-up -- but better because you always know there's going to be a resolution. Which is why these books are so great. I feel a real connection to the characters. When Vic is concerned that everybody's been lying to him -- especially Jacob -- I'm concerned as well.

I don't want to give any spoilers and it's too much of a pain to stay vague so I'll wrap this up. I highly recommend this series of quick-read books. I can't wait to start on the next one thanks to the little teaser at the end of Secrets, but I'm holding off. Don't want to finish the whole thing too quickly and be sad, now do I?
